My father was a career civil servant for the Internal Revenue Service.
I was always proud of him and his colleagues at the IRS, many of whom became my friends.
He taught me that the IRS was the most powerful governmental agency and it had a special responsibility not to abuse that power.
I had the premier tax practice in Seattle for years and I never had a problem with the I RS. I never once saw them abuse their power.
It is sad that in my dealings with governmental employees now I haven't dealt with one who considers himself a civil servant and who hasn't abused his or her power.
I will be writing a post about how my Father helped me in his final days when he was dyeing of cancer. It involved all-a-blog-drug-corruption and was my biggest victory ever over all-a-blog-drug-corruption thanks to my Father.
My Father was a civil servant to the very end of his life at 93 years of age.
Thanks Dad.
