I lived on my boat at Liberty Bay, Poulsbo, Washington for three years.
I was moored out - not at a dock.
It was peaceful and beautiful and I had a full view of Mount Rainier
Unfortunately the Port of Poulsbo catered to the drinkers and drug users.
Every weekend the boaters would come to Poulsbo on their expensive yachts and anchor by me and do their drugs and drink.
Also every weekend the biggest yacht moored permanently at the Poulsbo Marina would
have drug parties and drinking. The owner of this yacht lived on it and had a successful business in Seattle.
Naturally I was against the drugs and drinking and spoke out against it and became a very unpopular person with those who could correct the drug problem.
My longtime friend, who lived on his boat at the Poulsbo Marina, confided to me that two young girls had fallen off the party yacht and drowned. One of the girls body had washed up on the beach in front of downtown Poulsbo.
He also confided that drug users from the party yacht had set off a string of fireworks in front of his sailboat while he was sleeping. When he confronted them - he knew them, they were going to throw him off the dock into the water. He is 80 years old and he would have drowned. Luckily he made it back to his sailboat and got his gun. When they saw this they left him alone.
I exposed all of the above and the retaliation was massive: the Port of Poulsbo had people try to destroy my mooring buoy, they tried to keep me from coming ashore by impounding my yacht tender, and finally the police ticketed my boat.
I went to the mayor.
The Poulsbo policeman who had the K-9 dog was my friend. I had donated to his fund for a new K-9 dog. He had also raised money at Wal Mart.
When the police chief didn't use the money to buy a new K-9 dog I met with the police chief demanding my donation back.
I related this to the mayor about the fraud of the police chief and his retaliation against me.
The police chief lied and said he had never met me.
I successfully proved to the mayor her police chief had lied and was guilty of fraud regarding the money he had raised at Wal Mart.
I then went to court and exposed the corruption of the police chief, the port commissioners, and the marina manager - all friends of the judge in a tight knit little community.
The judge threw the book at me which I had expected but I had been successful in exposing the corruption.
The Kitsap County Assistant Prosecutor thanked me in front of the judge for what my ministry was doing to bring justice for Assistant US Attorney Thomas Wales and others.
After the trail the prosecutor spent over an hour with me explaining how I could appeal to superior court and how to do this so it wouldn't cost anything.
I thanked him and told him I had accomplished my goal of exposing drug corruption and now I was leaving it up to the Lord.
Six months later I went back to Poulsbo to see my friend and he told me the marina manager had been fired, the police chief had been fired, and the party boat responsible for the deaths of two little girls had been evicted.
After I left my friend I ran into another friend who worked for the marina who never drank or used drugs and he was now the marina manager and told me they were working on cleaning things up.
Listening to my radio in Issaquah, Washington where I live I heard the new Poulsbo Police Chief being interviewed. He said they had purchased a new police dog who would even be sniffing cars for drugs.
There will be no more little girls bodies washing up on the beach in front of downtown Poulsbo.
Thank you Lord.
