Myerchin Offshore System

The rigging knife and marlinspike are carried by all good sailors and are necessary for the safe operation of a sailboat and in olden days were necessary for the captains safety - a crew with criminal intent - mutiny.
I have just purchased a Classic Series Limited Edition rigging knife and marlinspike:

"A little history about the Myerchin Offshore System. The Offshore System was the first rigging knife designed by Myerchin almost thirty years ago. After sailing to Hawaii with his family in a Westsail 32, the Orgone lll , John saw the need for a high quality fixed blade rigging knife after having a competitor's folding rigging knife collapse during stormy weather. John decided that the knife and its companion piece, a full size sailor's marlinspike must be strong, functional, and demonstrate the classic beauty of days gone by. This newest version of the Offshore System, the Generation 2, incorporates greater strength, better cutting ability, improved ergonomics and still retains the classic sheepsfoot design that has been the hallmark of quality rigging tools for hundreds of years. The natural bone handle is a great medium for intricate scrimshaw. This Limited Edition bone handle is a true collector's item.
Our Pro Marine Stainless is a high carbon stainless with excellent edge properties...
...Myerchin knives are rugged tools that are designed to give years of excellent service....."

Hopefully I'll never have to use my rigging knife and marlinspike in self defense as sailing captains of old did.
